Madrid, September 13, 2021 – The students of the first edition of the FP Dual program of (Innovación en Formación Profesional – ifp.es), the official FP institution of Planeta Formación y Universidades, and DigitalES, employers’ association of the technology sector, in Madrid begin today their internships in companies.

In the fall of 2020, IFP and DigitalES signed a strategic partnership to facilitate and enhance employability in that sector. The project has the collaboration of 8 companies associated with DigitalES: Arca, Deloitte, Ericsson España, Sopra Steria España, Tower Consultores, Telefónica España, Viewnext (IBM) and Vodafone España.

As a first phase of action 2020-2022, IFP and DigitalES agreed to promote the training of specialized profiles in cybersecurity, object-oriented programming and RPA programming (robotic process automation). This training has already materialized in the Higher Level courses offered by iFP in DUAL mode of Networked Computer Systems Administration, Multiplatform Applications Development and Web Applications Development.

The training began last year in Barcelona and Madrid, with 41 participating students who will have great employability options in the sector. The internships for the Barcelona students started in the spring. In all cases, these are paid internships.

According to DigitalES estimates, there are between 70,000 and 75,000 unfilled jobs in the technology sector due to a lack of qualified profiles.
