• The Spanish Association for Digitalization highlights Sánchez’s vocation for collaboration, work capacity and professional background, and places itself at the disposal of the new Secretary of State to continue collaborating for a more digital Spain.

Madrid, October 4, 2022 – DigitalES, the Spanish Association for Digitalization, welcomes the appointment of the new Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure, María González Veracruz.

The new head of the Secretary of State will be in charge of leading, among other matters, the regulatory developments that will succeed the recently approved General Telecommunications Law, General Audiovisual Communication Law and Royal Decree-Law on 5G Cybersecurity, as well as the implementation of the different UNICO plans to boost connectivity in Spain.

The association also thanks Roberto Sánchez “for his ability to listen to the sector, his strong vocation for public-private collaboration, his work capacity and his extensive professional background in telecommunications,” said Víctor Calvo-Sotelo, CEO of DigitalES.

Roberto Sánchez has been Secretary of State for Telecommunications and DigitalES Infrastructures since January 2020 and previously, since June 2018, Director General of Telecommunications of this agency under the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation.
