June 2, 2021 – DigitalES, the Spanish Association for Digitalization, has signed the Lisbon Declaration presented by the European Union yesterday, June 1, during a conference organized by the Portuguese presidency.

The aim of this conference was to make progress in building the digital Europe of tomorrow, within the framework of the Digital Compass 2030. A guide that establishes specific metrics for the Union’s digitalization strategy, which was presented in Spain last Friday at an event organized by DigitalES.

All these measures and objectives are, in turn, part of the new Lisbon Declaration, which sets out the European Union’s commitment to ensure equal opportunities and non-discrimination in the digital transition.

The Lisbon Declaration is a commitment to transfer the “European way of doing business” to the digital environment, i.e. to promote a digital economy based on European values of protecting citizens’ rights.

From DigitalES, we believe that this focus on the protection of rights is a differential feature and a competitive advantage for Europe to be relevant in the future. We therefore endorse this Declaration and encourage our partners and collaborators to join us.
