Madrid, March 29, 2023. The Council of Ministers approved yesterday the Royal Decree establishing the list of equipment, devices and material supports subject to the payment of fair compensation for private copying, the amounts applicable to each of them and the distribution among the different reproduction modalities, provided for in article 25 of the revised text of the Intellectual Property Law, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 1/1996, of April 12, 1996.

We hope that this new tariff framework will have the necessary stability and trust that future updates will reflect the reality of private copying consumption in Spain, which is in continuous decline.
