Madrid, May 27, 2019 – Alicia Richart, Director General of DigitalES, today picked up the accession plaque of the association to the Alliance for Dual Vocational Training delivered by Clara Bassols, Director of the Foundation Bertelsmann. Javier Miranda, Head of the Training and Employment Department at DigitalES, Juan José Juárez, Senior Project Manager of the Bertelsmann Foundation and Pilar Vázquez, Technical Advisor of the Alliance for Dual Vocational Training, also attended the event.

The Alliance is a state network formed by companies, associations, educational centers and institutions whose mission is to promote Dual Vocational Training in Spain. This modality alternates the training between the educational center and the company, in which the employee also practices what they have learned through work.

DigitalES, Spanish Association for Digitalization and employer of the technological sector integrates the leading companies in the sector of technology and digital innovation in Spain and aims to promote the digitalization of our country, contributing to the positive impact of technology on the economic model and productive of Spain and in the lives of citizens and society.

From the association there is a strong commitment to the promotion of Dual FP as a key element to achieve a model of professional education of excellence. In this sense, it has developed a training strategy for employment, redefining new digital skills and an adequate training catalog to respond to the challenges of digitalization in the workplace. He has also promoted Dual FP projects in Aragón, Cataluña and Madrid.

According to Alicia Richart, “it is essential to promote technological studies and STEM among the youngest and especially through a strong VET that responds to the important shortage of talent and professional profiles that are being demanded in our sector”.

For her part, Clara Bassols mentioned the importance of promoting Dual Vocational Training, given that 60% of young people under the age of 25 do not study or work. In addition, he added that “this modality brings benefits for all the agents involved since it improves the competitiveness of companies and educational centers, and opens the doors of apprentices to the world of work”.
