Madrid, December 19, 2022 – The shortage of certain professional profiles is one of the great scourges of the data center sector in Spain. According to estimates by DigitalES, the Spanish Association for Digitalization, the necessary demand for professionals in Spain could not be met at present. In this context, in 2021 DigitalES contacted the State Public Employment Service (SEPE) and FUNDAE (State Foundation for Employment Training) for the design and implementation of a strategic training plan for technicians of critical infrastructures such as data centers.
One year later, the project is a reality. The first pilot program, aimed at 75 future service and maintenance professionals of data centers throughout Spain, will take place between February and March 2023. The pilot will also count on the collaboration of Ametic, Spain DC and the trade unions UGT and CCOO, as members of the Joint Structure of the Digital Economy and Industry sector.
