Madrid, November 12, 2019.- DigitalES joins 564 other entities that have publicly committed to strengthening the security of digital products and systems. Signatories include 67 states, 139 international and civil society organizations, and 358 private sector companies.

Launched by the French government in November 2018, the “Paris Call For trust and security in cyberspace” is a declaration of commitment to collaborate against one of the world’s most complex problems. Members commit to work to make digital products more secure, strengthen collective defenses against cybercrime and promote cooperation among stakeholders across national borders. In addition, the signatories also commit to comply with international standards of responsible behavior in cyberspace.

As an employer’s association of the most important companies in the technology and innovation sector in Spain, DigitalES advocates for a fair-play technological environment where security is a guarantee of better services for all, supporting this global collaborative action to improve defenses against cybercrime, including open standards, transparency and internationally agreed standards.

The Paris Call reinforces the work of the international community and the many stakeholders involved in digital security. The text recalls a number of fundamental principles, such as the application of international law and human rights in cyberspace. It also highlights the need for a multi-sectoral approach to developing standards that will enable us to take full advantage, i.e. reliably and securely, of the opportunities offered by the digital revolution. Finally, Paris Call promotes the strengthening of the security of digital products and services that, for example, we use in our daily lives.
